Where's The [World's] Outrage Over Sectarian Marches?

From the Irish Echo:
As the annual North marching season nears its climactic moment, when hundreds of joyless bigots march through the streets of Belfast in hopes of frightening Roman Catholics, the temptation is to ask a simple yet significant question: What if they gave a 12th of July parade and nobody came?

By "nobody," I mean Catholic counter-demonstrators and the world's media. Clearly, if there is going to be a 12th of July parade, somebody is going to come, because there is no shortage of upstanding citizens in the north of Ireland who live for that moment every year when they can don their bowler hats and orange sashes and march through the streets, hurling slanders at the Pope and his slavish followers around the world.

But what if the world just didn't pay attention? What if the Catholics in the North simply ignored these proceedings, treated them with the contempt they deserve? What if the media weren't on site to record the inevitable confrontations between the followers of King Billy and the partisans of King James?

In other words, wouldn't the power of these marches be diminished, indeed, made irrelevant, if people of good will simply ignored them?

It is tempting indeed at this time of year to advise the Catholics of the Six Counties to stay at home during the marching season, to simply ignore the provocations on the assumption that the bigots will go away if nobody pays attention to them.

The problem, of course, is that the marching season involves more than just marching, and more than mere taunting. In recent days, loyalists have attacked the homes of Catholics in Belfast, putting into practice the words which are preached in the Orange Lodges of Northern Ireland.

It is a miracle that, as of this writing anyway, these attacks have not killed anybody. But not for lack of trying. In the most recent incident, three Catholic families were driven from their homes when an oil tank was set ablaze. Eight children were among those left homeless. In one of the incinerated homes, a play area where children sometimes slept was left in cinders.

Imagine for a moment that this sort of thing was going on in, say, the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, or in South Boston. Imagine if the homes of African-Americans, or Latino immigrants, were under attack by ruthless white people with murder in their hearts. The world's media would be on the story in a second, and rightfully so.

In the north of Ireland, however, the loyalist rampage goes on without mention in the mainstream press in the U.S. In some ways, that is as much a commentary on the loyalists as it is the press.

Given the reputation which the loyalists "enjoy" in most U.S. newsrooms, it would be considered news if they didn't attack the homes of defenseless Catholics during the marching season.

Ultimately, outrages like the home-burnings tell us why the Orange parades simply can't be ignored, even though it would seem, at first glance, to be the sensible strategy. Yes, the Orangemen seem ridiculous with their hats and sashes and drums, but they actually are not ridiculous at all. Some of them, anyway, know precisely what they are doing - they are creating an atmosphere which inspires not just hatred, but violence as well.

Not long ago, although in some ways it seems like decades have passed, David Trimble was in New York to tout economic growth and investment in the North. He spoke of promoting Ulster's folk culture as a way of luring tourists. And, as God and Ian Paisley are my witnesses, he cited the 12th of July parades as an example of folk culture which could lure tourists to the North.

What's astonishing, of course, is that this Orangeman probably believed what he was saying. As far as he was concerned, why not? Why wouldn't cash-happy Americans and Japanese and Aussies and other Europeans fly into Belfast to witness the marching season? After all, in a world that has been homogenized by generic popular culture, the 12th of July certainly is an authentic expression of traditional culture.

Apparently it never crossed Trimble's mind that this particular bit of traditional culture might actually offend Catholics and indeed all people of good will.

I recall wondering if the Sons of the Confederacy or some such organization might summon up similar chutzpah to package a Jim Crow tour of the Old South. "Here, ladies and gentlemen, is where the sons of the South stood firm against the outside agitators who wanted to desegregate the University of Mississippi." The comparison is not far-fetched, although Unionist sympathizers in Ireland and the U.K. rabidly insist otherwise.

Twenty years ago this month, I traveled to Belfast for the first time, and scheduled that visit in order to see the parades for myself. (Hey, maybe Trimble really was onto something.) I was there as a journalist, but also, frankly, as an Irish-American Catholic. Nothing I had read prepared me for the hatred I saw on those faces. And, worse, those faces were not all bejowled and wrinkled. There were young faces, many young faces, in the line of march. The only difference between the young and old seemed to be that the young faces spewed much harsher language, much more colorful epithets.

The world, and Ireland itself, has changed a great deal since 1985. And it goes without saying that Belfast, too, has changed.

But we are now in the middle of marching season, when the clocks in the Six Counties are turned back to 1690.

And that is why the rest of us -- people of the 21st Century -- are obliged to stand fast and call out hatred and bigotry for what it is.

Ignoring the marching season will not make it go away. That is regrettable, but it is also self-evident.

Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.

Bush Leads The Fight For Freedom While Canada Leads The Flight To The Gutter

President Bush speaks about 'important' matters while Canada's 'leaders' are obsessed with destructive issues.

Bill C-38 is a great assault upon the moral foundation that built and sustained Canada. South of the border, the President of the United States has sent men and women across the globe to fight for freedom, to fight for liberty. In Canada, our politicians have been fighting to impose liberal groupthink on an apathetic population, a population unwilling to fight for principle.
My greatest responsibility as President is to protect the American people. And that's your calling, as well. I thank you for your service, your courage and your sacrifice. I thank your families, who support you in your vital work. The soldiers and families of Fort Bragg have contributed mightily to our efforts to secure our country and promote peace. America is grateful, and so is your Commander-in-Chief.

The troops here and across the world are fighting a global war on terror. The war reached our shores on September the 11th, 2001. The terrorists who attacked us -- and the terrorists we face -- murder in the name of a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance, and despises all dissent. Their aim is to remake the Middle East in their own grim image of tyranny and oppression -- by toppling governments, by driving us out of the region, and by exporting terror.

To achieve these aims, they have continued to kill -- in Madrid, Istanbul, Jakarta, Casablanca, Riyadh, Bali, and elsewhere. The terrorists believe that free societies are essentially corrupt and decadent, and with a few hard blows they can force us to retreat. They are mistaken. After September the 11th, I made a commitment to the American people: This nation will not wait to be attacked again. We will defend our freedom. We will take the fight to the enemy.

Thanks to modern Liberalism, another corrupt and decadent society is waving a red and white flag in the face of terrorism. It's ironic that while the US is trying to protect the world, Canada is trying to draw attention to itself by pushing an agenda that Islamic terrorists use to justify their Jihad against free nations

I thank those of you who have re-enlisted in an hour when your country needs you. And to those watching tonight who are considering a military career, there is no higher calling than service in our Armed Forces. We live in freedom because every generation has produced patriots willing to serve a cause greater than themselves. Those who serve today are taking their rightful place among the greatest generations that have worn our nation's uniform. When the history of this period is written, the liberation of Afghanistan and the liberation of Iraq will be remembered as great turning points in the story of freedom.

After September the 11th, 2001, I told the American people that the road ahead would be difficult, and that we would prevail. Well, it has been difficult -- and we are prevailing. Our enemies are brutal, but they are no match for the United States of America, and they are no match for the men and women of the United States military.

May God bless you all.
And to think that large numbers of Canadians are opposed to the liberation of countries like Iraq and Afghanistan and opposed to lifting a finger to help the people of the Sudan and Zimbabwe.

God bless George W. Bush and the men and women of the US military.

Action expresses priorities.

Marriage A la Mode

An Orgy Of Marriage is now law in Canada.

Dishonesty, deceit and corruption were the attendants of the Liberal wedding party.

Lies, limitations and lawlessness were the brides attendants.

Shame Oh Canada Shame!

The damned are in the abyss of Hell, as within a woeful city, where they suffer unspeakable torments, in all their senses and members, because as they have employed all their senses and their members in sinning, so shall they suffer in each of them the punishment due to sin.

Lemons, Leadership And Lore

Liberal Leadership Lemons
"As a political entity, Canada is a nation adrift," said the business group representing 150 leading CEOs.

"Canada has a really big risk of going sideways or down right now," [Gywn] Morgan said in an interview, adding it's not "as if we are sort of being the Chicken Littles worrying about the sky falling" because the threats are already clear.

Royal Bank CEO Gordon Nixon said that the country "must shake off our complacency as a nation" and act.
Great advice boys. Will each of you commit to reducing your personal benefits package, giving the money instead to build stronger companies that reward employees with better pay, working conditions and benefits? Hello................hello, Mr CEO?

And, does the CEOs understand the threat same-sex marriage will have upon the future of Canada. Hello........ Mr CEO?
The CEOs said their plan will include: reforming government such as making ministers and deputy ministers more accountable; overhauling public services and infrastructure; cutting taxes and excessive regulation; reducing restrictions on investment; improving education and skills training; and changing the rules to attract more skilled immigrants to Canada.
More 'technocrat' language and recommendations that will do little for the average Canadian. Instead of the same old lemon mantra coming from our esteemed CEOs, I would like to hear and see some real leadership in action in Ottawa and Bay Street.

Irony News III: Why RCMP Can't Get Its 'White' Man

The RCMP are dragging out tales and other false data to 'hide' failed leadership practices.

National Post:
The RCMP complained this week that it had too few qualified recruits last year to replace the number of officers who retired. Applications were off by 28% and only 232 new officers joined, rather than the 300 hoped for.

The force attributes the dearth of prospective recruits to competition: There are too many other attractive career choices for young men and women. Its solution? Buy a brightly coloured van and cruise Ontario and Quebec campuses looking for warm bodies; maybe conduct some focus groups to see why young people aren't attracted to RCMP careers.
Senior management are playing games with the public. As the National Post article points out, the problem is the racist hiring pursuits of the mounties and the use of technocrat thinking instead of logic.

If too few well-qualified applicants are seeking admission to the RCMP's academy in Regina, it is likely because the Mounties have done all they could in the last decade to scare off young white males. While brass deny it, for a time in the mid-1990s the RCMP had a "no white males" policy. Some recruiters admitted to applicants that the force had a five-year backlog of Caucasian men and wouldn't consider any more until it had reached its gender and racial hiring goals. Just to get an interview, white males needed a score of 115 on the police aptitude test, women needed a 96 and visible minority candidates an 86.

Such quotas are said to permeate promotions, too. For instance, although the RCMP has a comparatively small number of officers in Quebec, bilingualism is a key to selection for command, which has left many serving male, anglophone members embittered -- understandably so.

In 1999, too, the RCMP eliminated recruits' pay while they are training in Regina. Now, during the 24-week academy, recruits typically have to come up with $4,600 of their own for expenses. Room and board is provided, but nothing else. (And even that is treated as a taxable benefit by the Canada Revenue Agency.)
Add political interference and the RCMP drag worsens.
...there is the obvious politicization of the Mounted Police. It is no longer perceived by many as an independent force. Rather, it is now seen as a branch of the Solicitor-General's office like any other. The commissioner has the standing of an associate deputy minister. This has enabled Cabinet to ally the RCMP too closely to unpopular programs such as the firearms registry. Enforcement of Ottawa's gun controls has made the force less popular in places where it was once revered, such as Atlantic Canada and the rural West.
The solution may be logical and based upon 'past' hiring practices. But history and modern liberalism don't mix; preference is to throw away past practices and embrace social re-engineering.

If RCMP recruiters want more young officers, they might first look to a gender- and colour-blind application process. The force still receives nearly 9,000 applications a year. Surely there are an additional 68 good prospects in that pool -- even if they are all white males.

The Mounties' lustre can also be restored by ensuring the service is fully independent of political interference. The commissioner should become an officer of Parliament rather than a bureaucratic appointee. His or her selection should be made by an all-party committee, rather than by Cabinet.
But as I reported earlier this month, recruitment is one of many major failures by RCMP leaderhip. It's time (before it's too late) to do something. Sadly, it won't happen because the sociologists and socialists are in firm control of the police.

Air Canada's 'Divide And Conquer' Strategy The Real Threat On The Horizon

Air Canada is playing mind games with passengers and employees.

The first mind-game appeared over the week. Members of a New Zealand junior softball team arrived in Prince Edward Island for a tournament without their luggage.
Stuart said the baggage handling process broke down and the reason for the failure are being investigated.

The airline did say the team was traveling with twice the usual amount of baggage allowed per passenger.
What the airline is not saying is that the baggage handling process is a massive problem for all flights departing and arriving in the Maritimes. The planes that Air Canada uses does not have enough baggage storage capacity when the planes are full. It doesn't matter if the passengers are business people or softball players, most flights are now experiencing baggage problems that management REFUSES to acknowledge. Expect golfing tourists to be the next victim.

The next weekend mind-game came from the chief operating officer.

Air Canada chief operating officer Rob Reid said in an internal letter to the company's 3,000 unionized pilots that he's concerned about job action by those belonging to the so-called Original Air Canada (OAC) group.

The pilots were hired by Air Canada before its merger with Canadian Airlines International Ltd. (CAI) in 2000.

"Several of our pilots have communicated to their co-workers and called for action to slow down the company's operations," Mr. Reid wrote on the weekend. "We are all professionals and I know that the vast majority of you do not condone or support this activity. Whenever such activity happens by a few, we all suffer the consequences -- company, pilots and fellow employees alike."

Air Canada management, by singling out the original employees that helped build the airline's reputation, is using the old war strategy of 'divide and conquer.' Over the past few months, Air Canada has cut the wages of employees that work in Canada's smaller airports by transferring those employees to Air Canada Jazz while hiring replacement workers that will make wages close to the minimum wage. The new employees are being hired to work for as little as two hours a day. Similar work and pay strategies are being pushed at the pilots.

It is remarkable that while the average workers' pay is cut, senior executives are getting filthy rich through stock options. It's immoral. It's modern business practices sans ethics.

"You should also maintain a civil tone and resist any urges to refer to him [CEO Robert Milton] as any part of your anatomy."

Air Canada employees are NOT happy. Moral is worsening. That fact may be a surprise to the traveling public, but it is not a surprise to the thousands of employees that view their CEO with the level of contempt usually associated with a politician. Moral problems are bad for business. Unpopular CEO are worse.

The Globe and Mail's headline states, Air Canada Braces For Flight Delays, but a more accurate headline should have been, Flight and Baggage Delays Due To Incompetent Management.

An economic system like ours depends on trust -- trust between consumer and vendor, auditor and employee, shareholder and executive. When that trust is broken, the economic system itself is damaged. Ethical behavior, in short, is not a pleasing addition to the bottom line; it is, rather, an intrinsic part of the bottom line.

A Life Of Love

In his farewell American revival meeting, the Rev. Billy Graham has left it to others to note the emotion of the moment. Speaker after speaker has called the crusade in a city park "historic" and thanked the ailing evangelist for allowing them to be a part of it. Among the well-wishers was President Clinton who clasped Graham's hand onstage Saturday night and called him "a man I love."

The world-renowned preacher, meanwhile, has appeared upbeat and has made no direct reference to saying goodbye.
Thank you Billy Graham.

Massive Corruption Ignored By The Media (again)

If you rely on Canada's media (newspapers, CBC, CTV, Canwest Global), you are not informed!

Newspapers are in big trouble in North America. Accused of having a liberal bias, more and more people are turning to the Internet for news. And who can blame them? Newspapers and standard television and radio media have become big business, interested in profit and shareholder return. Gone are the days when the media focused on investigating, exploring and exposing rot and corruption. These days, a lot of the rot and corruption are the media.

Take the recent ethics report of Bernard Shapiro, Shades of Grey, that detailed former minister Judy Sgro's ethical conduct. The report detailed widespread corruption and the sale of ministerial permits. The majority of the media have done little to expose the reality that is modern Liberal practices.

The Calgary Herald may be an exception (maybe).

The facts are black and white, a true description of the Liberal party's cynical operating procedures with ethnic communities: Keep the people who can help you happy by looking after their relatives, and then call in their votes on election day.

It has been going on for years. Only occasionally is it illuminated by a favor gone wrong.
Imagine that. Corrupt practices, but like the sponsorship program, the media are nowhere to be found. They have moved on in the coverage of the Sgro report, yawned and went back to sleep.
"There appeared to be some indirect connection between working as a volunteer on this minister's campaign and a benefit that might accrue to relatives, friends or specific organization." One can only wonder about the relationship between the other 73 Liberal MPs and those they nominated for special treatment. Shapiro didn't. Pity.

In any case, "indirect" is generous: People with open immigration files worked on Sgro's campaign. Some friends and relatives of campaign workers (if not the workers themselves) were granted permits. And, her staff provided just enough plausible deniability that nobody could prove she knew anything about any of it.

There was an indirect connection between ad firms that received sponsorship money and kickbacks to the Liberal Party too. More yawn for Canada's media.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Liberal Party and the media enjoy a comfortable association. One speaks, the other prints.

But as the media play dishonest journalism, the Internet may well be the only salvation for seeking out rot and corruption.

"Media is a word that has come to mean bad journalism"

Study Confirms: Majority Of Judges Are Liberal Hacks

Oh Canada, a moral nation stole from thee.

There is something horribly wrong in the courts of Canada. Judges are making bizarre decisions that rewrite segments of the constitution and the citizens of Canada are told to follow along. Liberal judges are becoming the greatest threat to Canada's survival. A recent study exposes the level of corruption that has taken hold within judicial circles.
A recent study of Liberal patronage found that more than half of the federal judicial appointments in 2003 -- a transition year for prime ministers Jean Chretien and Paul Martin -- were supporters of the governing party, a new book reveals.
In fact, the Liberals have used the committee process that approves judge appointments to support their preferred candidates. But that's not new. Testimony at the Gomery Inquiry said that even lower level Liberals were involved in determining whether a person should be appointed to the court.
"From this finding, we conclude that if you wished to be a federally appointed judge in the last year of the Chretien government, being an active supporter of the Liberal party was a strong asset."
Justice Minister Irwin Cotler has not been an angel of transparent actions during his tenure either. Although the study says that Cotler has admitted there are problems, it was Cotler himself that appointed liberal Rosie Abella to the Supreme Court in an attempt to approve Liberal same-sex 'marriage.'

Recent court decisions that rewrite the constitution and the definition of marriage make sense when you realize that over half of the judges are Liberal hacks.

Lazy Justice: Groupthink Overrides The Constitution

Former Quebec premier Rene Levesque was right when he warned that the Charter of Rights would dilute "collective rights."

Upon hearing New Brunswick Judge Judith Clendening's same-sex 'marriage' (SSM) decision that changed the common-law definition of marriage to a union of 'two persons,' I know that the collective rights of the majority of Canadians have been forever destroyed. What irks me most is the level of intellectual dishonesty and deceit that has allowed SSM to become common practice in Canada. We are only the third country in the world that has equated SSM with traditional marriage. Holland has allowed SSM for many years but marriage no longer matters in Holland; the majority of couples do not bother to marry.

Brad Green, the Attorney-General of New Brunswick is failing his constituents by shrugging and stating the obvious:
"What the court has said here in New Brunswick is that the traditional definition of marriage is no longer the law, that any two individuals can get married."
What Brad Green should do now is appeal the Clendening decision to the Supreme Court of Canada. Let's ask the supreme justices if the notion of marriage as a union between a man and a woman is Sui Generis (a class of its own) and protected. Otherwise, we will unravel an institution that has been weakened to the breaking point.

Same-sex 'marriage' is unconstitutional. The majority of Canadians are opposed to equating homosexual marriage with heterosexual marriage and they are correct. Heterosexual marriage is Sui Generis and only fools and the wicked will argue the contrary.

There is no dignity in wickedness, whether in purple or rags; and hell is a democracy of devils, where all are equals.

More On More: "The worst thing is to stay in Cabinet by sacking one's conscience"

Liberals! Modern equivalents to moral cowardice.

What would Thomas More do?
By Father Raymond J. de Souza (National Post)
"On Wednesday, the Catholic Church marked the feast of St. Thomas More, a leading statesman of the 16th century and one of the most noble figures in the history of law and politics. Indeed, so impressive were More's fidelity and courage in opposing England's King Henry VIII that the Anglican Communion, despite an obvious disagreement with his position, recognizes him as a martyr.

As this sorry sitting of the House of Commons draws to an end, St. Thomas More is strikingly relevant. He was executed for treason by Henry VIII in 1535 -- an early victim of what we might call today a "democratic deficit." More opposed Henry's declaration that the King would be the head of the Church in England, not the Pope. And of course he opposed Henry's (first) divorce, the proximate cause of Henry wishing to declare himself the head of the Church. Marriage, freedom of conscience and the democratic deficit are all on our federal agenda today. Would that some measure of More's courage was also in evidence.

There are a handful of MPs for whom St. Thomas More's example is particularly relevant. While a free vote will be held in the House on the homosexual marriage bill, the Liberal Cabinet is being whipped to vote in favour. There are several Cabinet ministers whose opposition to gay marriage is well known -- they voted against it before they entered into Cabinet -- but who are now voting in favour.

The battle between ambition and principle is an ancient one. In the Robert Bolt play, A Man for All Seasons (the film adaptation of which won the Best Picture Oscar in 1966), More is finally betrayed by his one-time friend and protege, Richard Rich. After Rich offers his perjured testimony at the trial, More notices that he is wearing a chain of office, and inquires of Rich what it signifies. Informed that Rich is now Attorney General for Wales, More delivers a devastating blow: "Richard, the Lord said that it did not profit a man to gain the whole world if he lost his soul. The whole world, Richard ... but for Wales?"

For Wales indeed. Imagine what the shocked and saddened Thomas More would have said to, say, Albina Guarnieri. But for Veterans Affairs? Or to John Efford. For Natural Resources? Or to Joe McGuire. For the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency? Or, heaven help us all, to Joe Comuzzi. For the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario?

There are others -- Tony Valeri, Joe Volpe, Joe Fontana -- who have wrestled their conscience to the ground on this one, convincing themselves that staying in Cabinet is the greater good. Those in office always convince themselves that whatever good they think they are doing is worth the cost of going along to get along. But in point of fact, sacrificing an office on principle is about the greatest accomplishment most politicians could ever achieve, despite whatever happens to be the pressing business over at the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario.

Sir Thomas More was, along with Erasmus, the most distinguished humanist of his time. He was a highly-praised chancellor -- what might today be called prime minister. He was a gifted writer. But we don't remember him for all that. We remember him for his willingness to sacrifice all that for his principles. To be sacked from Cabinet for voting one's conscience is not the worst thing that can happen to an MP. The worst thing is to stay in Cabinet by sacking one's conscience."
Will the advocates of bribed marriage legislation hear the truth?

What has been the effect of [religious] coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth.

Heretic Churches: Going, Going....Gone!

The harm in same-sex 'marriages' is beginning to mount.

From Scandanavia, Holland and now Canada and the US, the issue of blessing same-sex unions is taking its toll on the Anglican Church. Created as a state sponsored religion by Henry VIII, the Anglican Church continues to bleed from dishonesty and immoral practices that defy Holy Scripture. But, like all modern liberal churches, the Anglicans have played a game of cat and mouth that is unfolding in more ways than one.

The same-sex confrontation in the Church comes as the Parliament of Canada is locked in an equally bitter showdown over government legislation that would make Canada only the third nation in the world to legalize formal same-sex marriage.

Yesterday the Consultative Council rejected the North American rationale for homosexual participation in Church affairs and voted to banish both Canada and the U.S. from the council and its central finance and standing committees.

The battered church leaders don't get it. Perhaps a history lesson of the protestant reformation might be a possible cure to their wayward ways?

However, Canadian delegates, including the church's primate, Archbishop Andrew Hutchison, refused to drop their support of the blessing of same-sex unions in Vancouver.

Reverend Peter Elliott, dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver and the deputy chairman of the Canadian church's governing body, its General Synod, told the Consultative Council on Tuesday, "I am a gay man. I am in a committed partnership myself."

They truly are a farce.

I shall never be a heretic; I may err in dispute, but I do not wish to decide anything finally; on the other hand, I am not bound by the opinions of men.

Moral Leaders Demand VLT Ban

Government has gone too far; they are harming society.

Video Lottery Terminals are everywhere. From small restaurants and bars in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, their lure is inescapable. The big winners are never the users. Struggling businesses count on them to survive while the government counts the revenue.
John O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic chaplain, calls the government's reliance on money from the machines "unethical and immoral," and says it's time to pull the plug.

"The experiment has gone awry, as far as we're concerned. The time has come to end the experiment and to admit that having basically uninhibited access to VLTs anywhere and whenever you want, those days are over."
Nova Scotia Premier John Hamm tipped his hand by revealing the evil nature of VLTs and the duplicity of government.

"We all know the evils of VLTs. If it was simply a matter of . . . waving a wand and they would vanish, it would be a relatively easier issue," he said.

"But if you look at the jurisdictions that don't have regulated gambling, they have scads of illegal machines."

Regulated BS. His comments are also a sad reflection of the reality of weak government and weak leadership. Only a fool would say that something is evil and then do little to stop its growth. But fools and leadership seem to be common traits these days.
"While the provincial government continues to extract easy money from VLTs, Nova Scotians from Glace Bay to Yarmouth are losing their careers, reputations, homes, marriages, families and some their very lives."
The lure of immoral gains is becoming a Canadian value. God help this confused nation.

Gambling promises the poor what property performs for the rich: something for nothing.

NDP/Liberal Axis Of Evil

The wishes of the majority of Canadians don't count. The Constitution doesn't matter. Power belongs to special interest.

Bill C-38, the bill to change the traditional definition of marriage, has become the Liberal government's number one priority. Chief Liberal spokesman and gay marriage advocate, Scott Reid, is pulling the strings from behind the scenes. The NDP/Liberal coalition are obsessed with rebuking marriage tradition while imposing a left-wing social structure upon apathetic Canadians. The NDP/Liberals, combined with the socialist Bloc Quebecois, will force Canadians to accept their evil plans. In the end, Liberals will ignore the will of the people.

If Bill C-38 becomes law in Canada, it will haunt the nation and harm future generations of children. Our shame will be our past apathy.

Like Father Francis Geremia, the parish priest in Prime Minister Paul Martin's riding, I too will pray that PM is defeated.
"I pray that he will lose his riding. Because you cannot have two faces: either you serve God or you serve the devil."
Clearly, the NDP/Liberal axis of evil prefers to serve the cause of evil. And clearly, evil does what evil is.

It's ironic that on this day when our rulers are playing their evil politics, the Catholic Church celebrates the life of Thomas More.

Beheaded on Tower Hill, London, July 6, 1535, [Thomas More] steadfastly refused to approve Henry VIII’s divorce and remarriage and establishment of the Church of England.

Described as “a man for all seasons,” More was a literary scholar, eminent lawyer, gentleman, father of four children and chancellor of England. An intensely spiritual man, he would not support the king’s divorce from Catherine of Aragon in order to marry Anne Boleyn. Nor would he acknowledge Henry as supreme head of the Church in England, breaking with Rome and denying the pope as head.

More was committed to the Tower of London to await trial for treason swearing to the Act of Succession and the Oath of Supremacy. Upon conviction, More declared he had all the councils of Christendom and not just the council of one realm to support him in the decision of his conscience.

The supreme diplomat and counselor, he did not compromise his own moral values in order to please the king, knowing that true allegiance to authority is not blind acceptance of everything that authority wants.
The more things change, the more things remain the same?

Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal well meaning but without understanding.

For Sale: Temporary Residents Permits - Contact Liberal MP Staffers

The crimes committed by Liberal political staffers are becoming too common.

Ethics Commissioner Bernard Shapiro released his report into former immigration minister Judy Sgro.

In his report, titled "Many Shades of Grey," Shapiro says he believed Sgro did not intend to abuse her authority in a case involving Romanian stripper Alina Balaican.

The ethics watchdog concludes, however, that the minister was nevertheless thrust into a compromising ethical predicament.

Analyzing the report in Ottawa, CTV's Roger Smith said Shapiro blamed that situation on the minister's staff.

"The ethics commissioner has concluded that while Sgro didn't know that Ms. Balaican had worked on her campaign, her staff did."

Shapiro concluded Sgro's granting the young stripper temporary residence and work permits put the minister in an apparent, if not real, conflict of interest.

"But it goes further than that," Smith told CTV Newsnet, noting the report suggests staff were asking Sgro to approve residence permits for a slew of volunteers as the election campaign drew to a close.

I Am Who I Am

Conservative leader Stephen Harper is right to reject any notions that he requires an image make-over. He is also correct to say that the media in Canada are hopelessly biased. I will go a step further and say that the mainstream media (MSM) in Canada are corrupt. Our media darlings support an agenda that is socialist and perverse.

Lets look at Harper's character resume:
  1. He is the brightest mind in Ottawa and committed to policy renewal
  2. He is honest and holds a reputation for being 'squeaky' clean
  3. He respects diverse opinions and rejects liberal groupthink
  4. He is a fiscal conservative, rejecting past PC governments for their failure to manage
  5. He is a devoted father, husband and family man
When an insider Liberal like Warren Kinsella writes in a national newspaper that Harper is a nice guy and the best man in Ottawa, the rest of the media should blush. For weeks we have witnessed negative media tales about Stephen Harper while the most corrupt government in Canadian history got a free ride.

"If we're to . . . clean up government, end corruption, restore some sense of ethics and morality into politics, then you have to have people who are concerned with these kinds of things," said Harper.

"If you continue to vote for people who say they have no ethics, you'll end up with an unethical government."

Canada faces many moral and social challenges over the next few years. For the good of the country we need a real leader at the helm and not a media driven made-up political image that stands for nothing.

When the leaders choose to make themselves bidders at an auction of popularity, their talents, in the construction of the state, will be of no service. They will become flatterers instead of legislators; the instruments, not the guides, of the people. -Edmund Burke

IRA Exists To Protect Catholics From Attacks Like These

From the Irish Tribesman
Two Catholic families have been forced to abandon their homes in the Whitewell area of north Belfast following a suspected [British] loyalist arson attack early this morning.

An oil tank was set alight behind one of the houses in the mainly [Irish] nationalist Old Throne Park development at around 1am.

The blaze spread to two neighbouring tanks and the flames quickly engulfed two homes and damaged several cars.

Two families were forced to flee and one man was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Local residents have blamed loyalist for the fire.

Tensions have been rising in the area for many years, with loyalists from nearby White City resenting the fact that nationalists have been moving into new homes in the locality.
These are not the only attacks this weekend, there have been other recent attacks on Catholics. As the Irish Tribesman notes in his blog: "And people honestly expect the Provisional IRA to disband in the face of this violence?"

It’s not the bullet with my name on it that worries me. It’s the one that says “To whom it may concern.”

The color Of Bigotry: Orange

An acceptable bigotry: Catholics.

Imagine for a moment that the KKK decided to parade march through a black neighborhood playing songs about the days of slavery while celebrating an anniversary of the first slave ships. Any reasonable person would conclude that the parade was wrong and an attempt to enrage the local black population. Catholics in Northern Ireland, in an area that is under occupation by Protestant British loyalists, have to face with racist parades every year. And Catholics can't count on the support of local government officials or the world media to come to their aid.

Take the Globe and Mail's description of the riots in Ardoyne.
Roman Catholic hard-liners assaulted police and Protestant marchers in a religiously polarized part of Belfast, and nearly 30 people were injured, Northern Ireland police said Saturday.

Friday night's violence flared as a parade by Protestants of the Orange Order brotherhood passed a crowd of hostile Catholics on the edge of the Ardoyne district. Hundreds of police in riot gear kept the two sides apart, but Catholic men and youths spent more than an hour hurling bottles, bricks and at least 10 gasoline bombs at the police lines.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said 18 officers were injured, but none seriously. The 11 injured civilians included a 14-year-old girl with a broken arm.

The rioting fizzled out once police deployed mobile water cannons to douse the Catholic crowd.
It's the Catholics that are the hardliners and are hostile. Catholics that live in a Catholic neighborhood for their own security are polarized. Hmmm. Who writes that trash?

Ardoyne is one of the most hard-line Catholic districts of north Belfast. Residents there generally loathe the Orange Order, an anti-Catholic fraternity group that mounts more than 2,000 parades annually, mostly in July.

Several Orange Order parades scheduled for next month are expected to face organized Catholic opposition. The confrontations almost always with police in the middle— have frequently caused widespread street violence, particularly from 1996 to 1998.
You would think that the Orangemen should be viewed negatively by the world media. Oddly, if the Catholics were all black, there might be some sympathetic news. Being Catholic is the last acceptable bigotry. Liberals hate Catholics and so do much of the 'intelligent' classes.

Personally, I hope and pray for the day when Northern Ireland is free of British hatred and oppression. Only when the partition of Ireland ends will we see the end of racist parades celebrating hate.

Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that “"all men are created equal."” We now practically read in “all men are created equal, except negroes.” When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read “all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners and catholics. When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.

Warning: Judge Clendenning Is Wrong On Marriage

Whatever happened to Egan v. Canada?

The Supreme Court said in 1995,
that marriage is firmly anchored in the biological and social realities and that men and women have the unique ability to procreate, that most children are the product of these relationships, and that they are generally cared for and nurtured by those who live in that relationship.
While Court of Queen's Bench Justice Judy Clendenning said she will send a written decision to the lawyers involved in Wednesday's landmark hearing in Moncton, she provided hints that she might open the door up allowing same-sex couples to legally marry in the province.

"I don't think I can rewrite what eight other (jurisdictions) have written," Justice Clendenning said, referring to judgments in seven other provinces and one territory that have accepted same-sex marriage.
The judge is wrong. She can rewrite what has already been written and she can refuse to follow legal groupthink by using Egan v. Canada as jurisprudence. Otherwise, New Brunswick will too fall victim to the greatest threat to our social order.

I am also concerned that NB Attorney-General Brad Green may go along with Justice Clendenning's narrow interpretation of the Charter of Rights by not appealing the decision to the Supreme Court of Canada. If same-sex marriage becomes law in New Brunswick it will be due to political cowardice, manipulation and dishonesty but NOT based upon the approval of the Supreme Court of Canada. The last time I checked, the Supreme Court was the final word on law in Canada.

God help this country if judges can't disagree or dissent.

"...viewed in the larger context, then, there is nothing arbitrary about the distinction supporting of heterosexual family units. It is the social unit that uniquely has the capacity to procreate children and generally cares for their upbringing, and as such warrants support by Parliament to meet its needs. This is the only unit in society that expends resources to care for children on a routine and sustained basis. ... whether the mother or the father leaves the paid work force or whether both parents are paying after-tax dollars for daycare, this is the unit in society that fundamentally anchors other social relationships and other aspects of society."

Another Genocide In The Making: UN & Liberals Shrug

While the pot-smoking, peace-not-war crowd plan their Live 8 party, a part of Africa slips further into an abyss.
More than 300 000 children of informal traders and city squatter families in Zimbabwe have dropped out of school in the last four weeks alone after their homes were destroyed by the government, ZimOnline has learnt.
More snipets of reality:
The opposition say "Operation Murambatsvina [Drive out rubbish]" is punishment for urban dwellers who mostly voted against the ruling Zanu-PF party in March elections.

President Robert Mugabe said it is needed to "restore sanity" to Zimbabwe's towns and cities.

The crackdown, which the United Nations says has left some 200,000 people homeless, has been condemned by Zimbabwe's churches, teachers and doctors.

As the UN counts, points and analyses:

The homes of some 200,000 Zimbabwean city dwellers have been demolished in the past three weeks, according to the United Nations.

Police have been moving from area to area, in some cases forcing people to knock down their own homes. In others, they have turned up with bulldozers to demolish structures which they say have been built illegally.

A personal account reflects the pain:

Dear Family and Friends,

I am in deep shock at the situation in Marondera as the government's "Operation Restore Order" to cleanse the town has gone into its third week.

Everywhere you look you see only desperation, fear and shock on people's faces. Everyone is saying the same thing : "But why are they doing this to us, what are we going to do, where can we go, we are going to die."

On a short drive around Marondera town the aftermath is there for all who care to see. There are mounds of rubble on street corners, stacks of timber, tin and asbestos piled on road sides, dismantled pre-fabricated houses leaning against trees and people staring in shock at what was there one day and gone the next.

In a piece of grassy waste land near a big supermarket I saw a woman sitting surrounded by her life's possessions on Friday morning. A battered kettle, a plastic basin and a small pile of clothes tied up in a blanket.

In the town you can see many people still desperately looking for somewhere to stay after their homes have been demolished. Young women carrying suitcases with babies strapped on their backs, calling to others for advice - "where can we go", "do you know of anywhere".

The final paragraph of her plea to friends and family speaks loudlt about the bourgeois mentality of liberals and the United Nations. We need reform in the world and that reform included ridding the world of all dictators and despots. But the liberal crowd will not get the message, instead they will purchase their Live 8 tickets, a bottle of French wine and a Che T-shirt. God help us all.

It is ironic that while hundreds of thousands of people
continue to be forced into poverty in Zimbabwe,
pop stars and politicians are planning to "make poverty history" in Africa and world leaders talk about forgiving us our debt.
There seems no sense to this whatsoever.
Please keep the utterly desperate plight
of hundreds of thousands of displaced Zimbabweans
in your minds and prayers.

Gomery Inquiry: A Failure Of Leadership

Reputation is character minus what you've been caught doing.

Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien's lawyer made his plea before the Gomery Inquiry.
Chretien's lawyers pleaded with Justice John Gomery to restore Chretien's "extraordinary reputation" which has been badly battered in the media even though he had nothing to do with the problems that surfaced related to the federal sponsorship program, his lawyer, David Scott, said.
But he should also remember that the media have not battered his reputation, they have only reported testimony from the Gomery Inquiry. If anything, the media (outside of Quebec) did not report most of the damning evidence. Mr Chretien was the master of his own reputation by using his own testimony before the inquiry to mock the process while trying to embarrass the judge.

Mr Chretien, along with current Prime Minister Paul Martin, participated in strategies to discredit justice Gomery. The Liberals have also used taxpayers money and their media friends in a campaign to discredit Justice Gomery.

The Gomery Inquiry has demonstrated very clearly that the Liberal Party, their members and leaders secretly participated in a campaign to steal taxpayers money. The Liberals are corrupt, were engaged in malfeasance and demonstrated that management of Canada's finances were not a priority. The Liberals stole over 5 million dollars from taxpayers. They used that money to finance electoral campaigns.

Leadership used to mean that those at the top took responsibility for the actions of followers. Not any more. These days, the failed crop of leaders prefer to shift blame while filling their own pockets, and then ducking responsibility. Failed leadership? You bet!

Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us.

Evil Revisited: "Killing Unwanted Kids Has Reduced Crime Rate"

Read between the lines and you should be very afraid.

Henry Morgentaler has probably reopened an old wound by linking abortion with concentration camps. I doubt if members of the Jewish community will be as outraged by his statement as they often are when a pro-life advocate equates abortion with the holocaust.
"Well-loved children grow into adults who do not build concentration camps, do not rape and do not murder," said Morgentaler, 82, who himself survived a Nazi death camp.
I have heard many strange statement over the years by those defending mass slaughter of innocent children, but for Morgentaler to suggest that he is preventing another holocaust is a moral outrage.
"The most important factor is that there are fewer unwanted children, fewer children likely to be abused, brutalized or neglected ... children so victimized they may grow up for a thirst for vengeance which seeks an outlet in violence," he said.
Mr Morgentaler must be a seer. He is suggesting that he knows that the mothers of all the slaughtered children would have abused or neglected their offspring. I wonder if he could explain why there are MORE incidents of child abuse, neglect and brutality than ever before? Ask your local social worker? Count the numbers of social workers. Count the dead.

Henry Morgentaler and his supporters have one thing in common; they are pessimistic in their view of child development. With their line of thinking taking hold across the country, it is no wonder that evil grows while innocence is lost.

After tens of millions of [abortion] 'procedures,' has America lost anything? Another Edison, perhaps? A Gershwin? A Babe Ruth? A Duke Ellington? … As it is, we will never know what abortion has cost us all.

Genocide Leader Gets His Reward At UWO

His life is celebrated by evil men and women.

The University of Western Ontario will reward Henry Morgentaler with an honorary degree today. The reward is for his leading role in the mass extermination of human beings. Morgentaler operates 8 abortion clinics across Canada and has been a leading figure in the destruction of human life.

His selection for a candidate for an honorary degree follows the path of most immoral acts in Canada. Don McDougall, the chair of the university's board of governors, called the process to reward the genocide leader, "corrupted."

Corrupted processes led by corrupt individuals lead to corrupt candidates. Morgentaler suits the process completely.

It is a fact that cannot be denied: the wickedness of others becomes our own wickedness because it kindles something evil in our own hearts.

Direct Kick Backs To The Liberal Party: $5.4 Million

The Liberal Party of Canada stole taxpayers money.
The Liberal Party of Canada owes Canadian taxpayers at least $5.4 million in money it received through sponsorship kickbacks, lawyers for opposition parties told the Gomery inquiry Wednesday.
The Gomery Inquiry was mandated to investigate massive corruption in the sponsorship program. Evidence from forensic auditors revealed that the sponsorship program cost $350 million dollars. The Auditor-General is still questioning a further $790 million in advertising contracts that she said, "have problems."
Lawyers for both parties described federal sponsorship and advertising activities in Quebec in the late 1990s as a corrupt "system" designed to reward Liberal friends – and benefit the Liberal Party of Canada – by way of kickbacks and illicit donations.
In a real country, the citizens would have revolted.
  • $2.9 million in hidden commissions paid to Jacques Corriveau, a friend of former Liberal prime minister Jean Chrétien.
  • $1.7 million that ad executive Jean Brault contributed to the party.
  • $769,000 in donations to the Liberal party made by other players in the sponsorship affair.
The numbers are all so boring to the media and to those voters with attention deficit disorder. Crime does pay (especially if you launder your ill-gotten gains through a Canadian bank with the help of a lawyer).

Drugging Kids To Keep Teachers Calm

We are creating a nation of zombies.
New Brunswick's ombudsman wants the province to take an in-depth look at the widespread use of drugs such as Ritalin for children with attention deficit disorders.

Bernard Richard told the Senate committee examining children's rights on Tuesday his office deals with many child-related issues since New Brunswick has not yet established a youth and child advocate. Richard said he is deeply concerned about the steadily rising number of children medicated with psycho-stimulant drugs such as Ritalin.

He said the province's Education Department has issued a directive to teachers and school districts making it clear that educators are not to suggest medications to parents.
He is right to call for an investigation. The history of scientific research is filled with false data, conclusions and recommendations. Drugging young kids (mostly boys) is insane. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, but the numbers are increasing. Why? Why? Why?
"I really feel there is a need in Canada, and New Brunswick is no different, to have a closer look at the issue of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the prescription of Ritalin. I'm concerned that it is being seen as the easy solution to an overactive child."

Richard said the provincial government should consider a legislative committee to study ADHD and the medication of children.

School officials estimate that about five per cent of school-aged children suffer from ADHD, a disorder that makes it difficult for people to focus, pay attention to lessons and interact effectively with others.

And the number of issues keep climbing.
"We have some classrooms where out of 28 or 30 students, there will be as many as 15 or 16, if not more, identified students with [special] needs," Bawn said.

"They're not just one disability. They're all over the board. In some classes there are three or four adults in the classroom including a teacher, several teachers' aides, methods and resource teachers, coming in and out. These are the struggles we have."
At that rate, every child will be classified as a special need. And add the number of kids that are using marijuana outside of school and the threat to learning skyrockets. We may be a society that is heading for a disaster. The number of young adults with mental diseases is growing. Some thing is wrong!

Will anyone do anything about the growing problems with medicated and pot using kids? Nah, that would require leadership. If the state of leadership in Canada is any indication, we will become a nation of zombies within a decade or two.

Burnout is nature's way of telling you, you've been going through the motions your soul has departed; you're a zombie, a member of the walking dead, a sleepwalker. False optimism is like administrating stimulants to an exhausted nervous system.

Canada's Armed Forces Are Perverted

Imagine it! A gay 'marriage' ceremony in a military chapel? It's enough to make dead veterans roll over in their graves and puke!
Two servicemen, who do not want to be identified, exchanged vows May 3 at the chapel at Canadian Forces Base Greenwood, N.S., in front of 45 friends and a United Church minister. Lt.-Cmdr. David Greenwood, the base's head chaplain, helped arrange the ceremony but couldn't preside over it since he is an Anglican.
Aside from the obvious hilarity of an Anglican and a United Church chaplain openly disobeying the word of God, the fact that Canada's military establishment is so bored with their duties that planning a gay 'wedding' is the best they can muster is beyond belief. Never mind that there are bigger priorities such as global terrorism, world hunger and poverty, Canada's military should be disbanded; they are becoming a joke!
"It was something that I was very proud to be able to be involved in," he said after describing a service that included scriptural readings, gospel music and an exchange of rings.
It's perverted liberalism and a mockery of Christian religion to read scripture. The Anglican and United Churches should be ashamed for promoting their godless churches. When Pope Benedict spoke out recently against the anarchy of gay 'marriage,' I guess the leaders of the Anglican and United Churches must have been busy reading the DaVinci Code. Shame!

What is also revealing about this story is that Canada's media (CTV, Globe and Mail, CBC and others) have downplayed the fact that the ceremony was held in a chapel! Censorship?

Canadians should not be surprised that Canada's military is fixated on perverted ideas. After all, the Minister of National Defense has proven that he is no 'normal' military leader. As the old adage says: The apples doesn't fall far from the tree.

Evil is only good perverted.

"Liberals Sing Old Refrain" - Media Print It

The Liberal Party is a threat to national unity. The media in Canada are a willing accomplice.

Gilles Duceppe made it official yesterday; he is staying in Ottawa to fight the Liberals. When the official fight begins, the Bloc Quebecois will score a big win. Quebecers are NOT fooled by Liberal charm and political spin. They intend to do align their vote with the Bloc to defeat the Liberals. They know from following the Gomery Inquiry that the Liberals are beyond redemption; they are threat to the unity of Canada. The latest news from the Gomery Inquiry is added proof that Canada's government is hopelessly corrupt.
The Liberals are denying allegations that the government made a secret arrangement with former prime minister Jean Chretien not to oppose any new legal challenge filed against sponsorship inquiry commissioner John Gomery.
In the House of Commons, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper held a copy of the letter between Liberal lawyers and former Prime Minister Jean Chretien that the government was involved in a secret deal to minimalise the damning testimony from the Gomery Inquiry. Government defender and chief minister of gay politics Scott Brison replied that the exchange of letters was normal legal exchange. But the facts speak to a different reality.

"The government categorically denied in the House to have reached any secret arrangement with Mr. Chretien, and yet the government had in fact made a secret agreement with Mr. Chretien," Conservative Leader Stephen Harper said during Monday's question period in the House of Commons.

Harper was referring to a letter in which a government attorney told Chretien's lawyers he could eventually challenge Gomery's partiality.

Busted again. Weeks ago Scott Brison denied that there was a deal, now he says the deal was a normal legal right. The only thing normal about Liberal politics is being immoral and corrupt at the same time.

As the Liberals lie, steal, cheat, and manipulate Canadians, the media spin stories to bolster the government. After months and years of liberal/socialist propaganda, it is no surprise that dumb Canadians think George W. Bush is as much of a terrorist threat as Bin Laden. While the Liberals try to use old political tricks on the Canadian population, it is the media that is playing along. Astonishingly sad.

This week, the Liberal face several key confidence votes. I hope and pray that Gilles Duceppe and Stephen Harper end the corrupt regime of the Liberals. Ironically, they are our only hope for Canada's unity.

We tell lies, yet it is easy to show that lying is immoral.

FYI: The Real "Cowards"

It is hard to know where to begin.

Chief Quebec Liberal Jean Lapierre is calling Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe a coward.
"If he doesn't go, it will show that he doesn't have it, to one day run anything. [He will be in] perpetual opposition and we'll be able to say he was a coward, frankly."
Ah yes. The Liberals are going nowhere in Quebec and they are rolling out their latest strategy to win back Quebecers who are outraged by the non-stop corruption of the Liberal Party. The Liberal strategy will fail because, unlike the Liberals, the Bloc Quebecois is clean. Unlike Jean Lapierre, Gille Duceppe is clean.

The media in Canada are dumb (and completly biased) to follow another Liberal plan for national unity. Re-electing the Liberals will lead to national disunity. The real cowards are all of those Liberal supporters that turn a blind eye to widespread Liberal corruption and immoral government.

Jean Lapierre and Paul Martin are cowards. They ignored a confidence vote in the House of Commons until they could buy several votes.

Polled Canadians: We Want The Corrupted AND The Immoral Because They Are Just Like US

Canadian are weird.

Just days after the Gomery Inquiry has concluded and only hours after hearing that the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister's Office and the Health Minister were caught in a criminal act, polled Canadians prefer the Liberals anyway.

If I am to understand the 'message,' I need to change my thinking:
  • I need to devalue marriage and support an immoral gay agenda;
  • I have to accept that all politicians are corrupt but Liberals are ok because they are open about it;
  • I need to help weaken national standards on everything from police recruitment to the armed forces;
  • I need to ignore criminal behavior because they are market driven;
  • I must accept the mantra- live and learn;
  • I must accept mediocre and value it as part of the diversity of humankind;
  • I must not support leaders that are moral, honest, intelligent or from the west, and
  • Finally, I must never expect reform.
The next time someone tells me that Conservative leader Stephen Harper is scary or that all politicians are corrupt, I'm going to look them in the eye and respond with the following:
Politicians are corrupt because corrupt people elect them!
Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is impossible that a nation of infidels or idolaters should be a nation of free men. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, are.

Oh, Oh: Socialist Medicare C'est Difficile?

The decision by the Supreme Court of Canada to strike down a Quebec law that prevented citizens from purchasing private health insurance has the Liberal/Socialists in shock. They may be in shock because collectively they have managed the national health file like Soviet bureaucrats; long lines, degrading hospital conditions and endless waiting.

On the very day that the Supreme Court shocked the lethargic elites into panic, a story reminding us about the hazards of our corrupted health care system reared its ugly head. C-Difficile, a virulent strain of bacteria, has killed hundreds of patients in Quebec and Ontario hospitals. Yesterday, the Quebec government announced that another 165 deaths have been linked to the disease.

As the commentators hit the airways yesterday trying to defend our mismanaged health system from US style private healthcare, they kept repeating the same solution; reform the system. It's been twenty years since our healthcare troubles started to surface yet most of the national experts talk and talk and talk about making reforms. The Supreme Court has now forced them all to make the changes moins difficile. But I fear our padded Prime Minister may not have understood the message:
"We're not going to have a two-tier health-care system in this country," he told reporters following Thursday's ruling.
Ah yes. The great bureaucrat himself may have to face the fact that he cannot force his liberal/socialist agenda on Canadians anymore without invoking (God forbid) the notwithstanding clause of the Charter of Rights. Stephen Harper must have spent the day laughing at the irony of the latest court decision. Only in a country that has spent years burying problems, a decision by the high court may offer the only realistic message of hope and change.

Irony regards every simple truth as a challenge.

The Cover-Up Is Working

If you want to be a crook and successful, you need to have a good lawyer and a great strategy.

Several months ago, while the Gomery Inquiry was making headline news, CBC news reported that former Prime Minister Jean Chretien was approached by senior Liberals who were desperate to stop their slide from power. The insiders wanted the former PM to apologize for the adscam mess and to end his lawsuit against Judge Gomery. Chretien has done that and more.
"Of course some people betrayed us. They betrayed the government, they betrayed me and they betrayed the nation, but they will pay the price," he said Wednesday in Hamilton after receiving an honorary degree from McMaster University.
Now the former PM is playing the latest strategy; he is a victim. The victim strategy was used by Prime Minister Martin, now we have his predecessor singing from the same script. The Liberal strategy is a not a leader-in-action approach to troubles, but it is proof of the lack of quality leadership that is currently managing the Canadian government.

The Liberals are victims. Canada may one day awake and end Liberal victimhood. In the meantime, the most corrupt government in Canadian history gets to hold the reigns of power because they know that Canadians love victims.

Former Prime Minister Chretien can take great comfort in the fact that his natural governing party has fans around the world. A young student from China was eager to get his picture as he prepared to leave the university convocation.
"I'm your friend from China!" the 24-year-old exclaimed as Chretien left the building and approached a waiting car.
Some people, other than Canadians, are accustomed to a one party political process and have no problem with the Liberals' manipulative and media supported campaign for continual power.

Evil requires the sanction of the victim.

Ethics Commissioner Fails To Fulfill Legal Duties

The air in air Ottawa smells like rotting corpses.

While Canada's biased liberal media continue to defend widespread Liberal Party corruption, Democracy Watch is demanding that 'one' of our bureaucrats obey the law. The Ethics Commissioner suprised many by refusing to investigate PMO staffer Tim Murphy for ethical (and legal) violations.
Today, Democracy Watch criticized federal Ethics Commissioner Bernard Shapiro for refusing to rule on whether the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Tim Murphy discussions with Conservative MP Gurmant Grewal violated ethics rules, and pointed out that the law gives the Commissioner the power to rule on any activity of anyone covered by the rules (although the powers need to be strengthened).

“Federal ethics rules clearly apply to full-time ministerial staff, and the law gives the Ethics Commissioner the power to rule on all activities of anyone covered by the rules,” said Duff Conacher, Coordinator of Democracy Watch. “The Ethics Commissioner is continuing his biased, extremely weak enforcement of ethics rules by refusing to rule on the activities of the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff.”
....

“As he has several times in the past year, the Ethics Commissioner has unfortunately once again chosen to protect a public official instead of properly enforcing federal ethics rules,” said Conacher.
Ah yes, Canada has become a complete mess. Being corrupt is rewarded.

Gay Marriages Are 'Anarchy' And 'Fake'

Pope Benedict's harshest statement to date on the phoniness and evil of same-sex marriage is hitting the airways in the US but the liberal media in Canada are focused on Liberal Member of Parliament (and now independent MP) Pat O'Brien's decision to quit the Liberal government.

The Pope's words are a direct assault on the illusion of gay marriage:
Pope Benedict, in his first clear pronouncement on gay marriages since his election, on Monday condemned same-sex unions as fake and expressions of "anarchic freedom" that threatened the future of the family.

The Pope [....] also condemned divorce, artificial birth control, trial marriages and free-style unions, saying all of these practices were dangerous for the family.

"Today's various forms of dissolution of marriage, free unions, trial marriages as well as the pseudo-matrimonies between people of the same sex are instead expressions of anarchic freedom which falsely tries to pass itself off as the true liberation of man," he said.
Ouch!

Pat O'Brien is right to quit the Liberal government. The most immoral and corrupt government in Canadian history has chosen to follow an immoral agenda that will destroy Canada. Prime Minister Martin's dishonorable conduct of lying has caught up with him again. He made many promises to O'Brien but failed to deliver. The PM is fake.

"The truth is not what you say, the truth is what you do," said O'Brien.

Ouch again!

Will other honorable men and women revolt and leave the comfort of Liberal hegemony? Doubtful.

There is no greater evil than anarchy.

Violating The Constitution - Again!

Only in a nation that prefers corruption over competence would we hear that the Prime Minister is planning to give municipalities more power and a say in national affairs. Municipal governments are NOT a federal responsibility; they are a creation of provincial governments.
Prime Minister Paul Martin says he will give Canada's cities the seat at the table they've been looking for on major federal decisions.

Martin told the Federation of Canadian Municipalities that he wants to make a fundamental shift in the way different levels of government work together.

"For too long you've been underfunded. For too long you've had little input into shaping the national agenda," Martin told more than 1,000 delegates at the federation's annual meeting.
Prime Minister Martin has no real plan to change the constitution; he is playing politics. The Liberals 'enjoy' greater support in cities than any where else in Canada. Martin knows too that most city mayors are either Liberal members or supporters of socialism. Except in Quebec.

Prime Minister Martin may be alienating the Quebec government further by trampling on and interfering in provincial jurisdiction. The Bloc Quebec is the most popular political party in Quebec. If Martin keeps stepping on provincial toes, he may well pick up a few city cities in English-speaking Canada but he will lose the country.
"There is no intention to interfere in provincial jurisdiction," he told reporters. "We recognize the role and responsibility of the provinces and we respect them."
Yeah right! If you believe that, why is the Prime Minister courting city mayors? The Prime Minister should focus his attention to areas of federal responsibilities instead of interfering in provincial affairs.

Profit is sweet, even if it comes from deception.

ALL CREATURES, GREAT & SMALL
All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful;
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

The Boy That Cried "Racism" Should Be Charged With A Hate Crime

The slim-belly leftists that like to accuse 'whites' for being racist are strangely silent after a teen-aged Sikh has recanted his false accusation.

A Sikh youth in B.C. has apologized for inventing a story of being set upon by a group of white men who cut his hair.

The 17-year-old from Richmond, a Vancouver suburb, admitted to police he made up the story.

Police had already been suspicious, because the attack, which had been alleged to have occurred in broad daylight on May 26, had generated no tips from the public.

"He had fabricated the entire incident," RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen told reporters Saturday.

His actions speak more about the culture of racism in Canada than the actions of a troubled teen-aged boy. He thought that he could easily accuse 'white' assailants for attacking him and that everyone would believe him. He was correct. Liberal Member of Parliament, Don Bell, stood in the House of Commons on Thursday, saying the following:
This attack has all the ingredients of a hate crime. This type of action does not represent the type of Canada we are trying to build. Canada is an open and tolerant society that celebrates differences and does not accept hatred.

I hope that community representatives everywhere will speak out against such acts.

MP Bell 's reaction was typical modern liberalism in action. He was too quick to use the incident for political benefit. The Globe and Mail had already warned in a story Thursday morning that the boy's story might not have been true. I guess Liberal Bell doesn't read the Globe.
[RCMP spokesman] Thiessen said the case is being reviewed to decide if a criminal charge should be laid against the youth.
The boy should be charged with a hate crime. Liberal Don Bell should learn that the Canada his party is trying to build is the type of place where falsehoods are celebrated if they are against the majority communities.

A sheep who goes looking for a wolf is sure to find one.

Irony News Part II: Mounties Can't Keep Up & Losing The Fight To Get Their Man

What on earth is going on in Canada?

The Mounties were used as props at a Gay sponsored 'rights' conference and were also used as 'pics' at a Trudeau wedding. Two weeks ago, an internal government report complained that the government was not providing enough money to fight money laundering. Now we hear that the Mounties are so understaffed that they cannot fully investigate and pursue current money laundering complaints.
The RCMP did not pursue more than a third of the money-laundering tips passed on by Canada's financial sleuthing agency, largely because the force lacked the manpower, says a newly released report.

The Mounties did not open investigations on 45 files turned over to them by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada, better known as Fintrac, says the document.

The agency was established in 2000 to gather financial intelligence from banks and other institutions on potential money-laundering schemes. After careful analysis, Fintrac forwards information on the most suspicious transactions to the RCMP and other police forces.

An internal Fintrac report, obtained under the Access to Information Act, found the Mounties did not chase 45 of the 131 high-quality tips the agency had produced to the end of 2003. Virtually all of the cases not pursued were suspected schemes in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, where the national police force places most of its proceeds-of-crime investigators.

And about three-quarters of the abandoned tips were not investigated simply because the RCMP had "limited resources."

"There is no shortage of evidence against these individuals committing crime, just a shortage of investigators to bring all the criminals to justice," says the 31-page report from 2004.

The findings suggest the extent of money-laundering in Canada, most of which stems from drug-trafficking, far exceeds the ability of the RCMP to investigate.

Incredible! The Liberal government has been proven by Gomery Inquiry testimony to be the most corrupt government in Canadian history and now we are being told that the RCMP DO NOT have enough resources to fight organized criminals. Shocking!

Good God, what's next? No more money for the Armed Forces? cough.....

McKenna: Canada- Stop Being Smug And Take The Chip Off Your Shoulders

Frank McKenna, Canada's tough-talking ambassador to the U.S., has some advice for Canadians dealing with their powerful neighbours to the south - stop being smug and take the chip off your shoulders.

Americans are offended when Canadians attack them and endlessly moralize about what they should be doing differently, he said Friday. "

In short, a self-righteousness that isn't very flattering," McKenna told The Canadian Press annual dinner, a gathering of journalists and power-brokers.

McKenna, fresh from media tours in the U.S. where he tried to correct false American impressions of Canada, turned the table on his Canadian audience, calling on them to have a better understanding of Americans.

The world changed dramatically for Americans on Sept. 11, and dealing with the shock and fear of the next attack "trumps all other issues and all other relationships," he said.
I knew McKenna was called Frank, but who knew he was really Frank.

America is hard to see.
Less partial witnesses than he
In book on book have testified
They could not see it from outside....

Media Aiding and Abetting Liberal Criminality?

The Liberal defence is clear; question the authenticity of the Grewal tapes. Then rely on the liberal friendly media to change the debate from Liberal criminality to Conservative deception.

But the facts remain facts: Prime Minister Paul Martin lied!
When Gurmant Grewal first notified the public that he had been offered a cabinet post, the liberal party, including the Prime Minister, denied that anyone had ever talked to Gurmant.
The level of dishonesty and corruption in Canada has fallen to a new low. The Liberal Party is in serious trouble. Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh is as dishonest as his Prime Minister. Worse, the Chief of Staff for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is as dishonest and corrupt as the rest of the Liberal government. He should be fired. The Prime Minister should be forced to resign!
[Liberal] Sarnia MP Roger Gallaway says the situation is "totally odious" and "it shows the underbelly of politics that I think is quite unacceptable."
And while all the talk of Parliament Hill is about widespread Liberal corruption, the media in Canada have been working hard to minimize the damage.
Canada's media -- most of it -- merely holds the Liberals and Tories to two different standards.Because Libs and reporters have similar temperaments, run in similar circles, have similar interests, the Libs are given a freer ride. Reporters assume they meant well. They fill in the blanks Grit words and actions leave behind with flattering explanations.

When the Tories leave similar gaps, the media is instantly convinced those blanks conceal awful motives and plans, so they default to mistrusting the Conservatives. The Tories come from different backgrounds, hold different perspectives than reporters, enjoy pursuits that reporters find foreign (going to church, any church, for instance).
Canada is in peril. While residents of Quebec turn their back on Liberal corruption, the media and the Liberals are operating as if nothing bad is going on, and when they do speak about trouble, it is the Tories that are the problem. Disgraceful.

The essence of lying is in deception, not in words.

The Bigotry In British Rule

Linked from the Irish Tribesman
Sinn Fein's Mitchel McLaughlin says new figures highlighting the inequality suffered by nationalists are completely unacceptable.

The Foyle MLA said: "Yet again we have evidence that Catholic women are three-andahalf times and Catholic men are twice as likely to be unemployed than their Protestant counterparts.

"It is significant, and an indication of the nature of the state in the North of Ireland, that we have been consistently grappling with the issue of Catholic/nationalist disadvantage.

"The multitude of laws, reports and recommendations going back more than eighty years have all purportedly addressed this issue. Yet the outcomes show the problem of discrimination against the Irish nationalist community in the North of Ireland has not gone away."

Mr. McLaughlin says that, across every socioeconomic indicator of deprivation, nationalists fare much worse and the gap is increasing.
.......
The British government made commitments in the Good Friday Agreement to make rapid progress with a range of measures aimed at 'progressively eliminating the differential in unemployment rates between the two communities by targeting objective need'.

They have singularly failed to do this. Seven years on from the signing of the Good Friday Agreement this is completely unacceptable.

As the talk continues, human lives are relegated to the background. It's long overdue that the British leave the occupied northern territories. The Irish have the right to be Irish.

We have always found the Irish a bit odd. They refuse to be English.

The Mounties Have Been Reduced To Props?

The RCMP is coming under fire for providing four officers in their famous red serge to attend Justin Trudeau's swank Montreal wedding, a move critics say is an inappropriate use of staff.

The Mounties defended the assignment yesterday, stating the officers volunteered for the job and no public funds were used.

A former Mountie, however, said it looks bad on the RCMP to provide such a service for a member of one of Canada's elite families.

"I can't help but wonder the appropriateness of being essentially mascots at the social events of the rich and famous," said Ken Azzopardi, who retired from the RCMP in 1988 after more than 20 years of service.

"It's a former prime minister's son, but so what? It's completely inappropriate. I'm just concerned that the force just cosies up to the governing party."

Azzopardi, now CEO of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, said he has also posted a note of complaint to the RCMP's website.

"You can't help but think this is the crown prince of the Liberal machine and ... there was some pressure applied to have somebody there. The RCMP should have said no."

The commissioner of the RCMP should be fired. He has damaged the credibility of the force beyond belief. It was bad enough to have uniformed mounties appear at a gay convention, but how much lower into the political correct gutter does the force have to go? Enough already!

Thou hast wounded the spirit that loved thee
And cherish’d thine image for years;
Thou hast taught me at last to forget thee,
In secret, in silence, and tears.

No-Fly, No-Logic, No-Friends

The Federal Minister of Transportation, Jean Lapierre, demonstrated the Liberal government's shallow commitment to North America security by refusing to provide passenger lists for Canadian flights that fly over US territory. Correct me if I am wrong people, but isn't it logical that flights that fly over US air space be held to a different standard than flights that fly over Canadian air space?
Washington warned recently that, as an added security measure against terrorism, it intended to require that all foreign airlines passing over the U.S. check the names of passengers against American government watch lists.
That sounds reasonable to me. If there are people flying on airplanes that are a security threat anywhere in North America, I want those persons restricted. Global terrorism is NOT a US problem, it is our problem. A daily peak at JihadWatch explains the threat that is ignored by our tra-la-la mainstream media and Liberal politicians.
"Our majority cities are right on the border, so if the winds push you this way, you will be over the American airspace," said Lapierre.
What a dork. There are hundreds of flights that travel over US airspace every day, including most that fly to the Maritimes from upper Canada. But the minister is concerned about flights that might "blow" into the US. Gee, how much taxes are we paying to the government for security? Billions? How many flights blow into US airspace?
"What that means is, I think when we have Canadians traveling from one city to another in Canada, I think there's no risk involved. I think we should not have to submit to the American list."
Ah, the "American" list. That's the problem, it is an American list. If the list was made and sanitized in Liberal Canada, then the minister might have a change in heart. The minister says it's a "very hot issue." Our national Liberal government is anti-American. Instead of protecting Canadians, we are taxed. Instead of caring about security, the Liberals care about lists. Instead of co-operating with North America security concerns, the Liberals are obsessed with fear-mongering.
The price of airline tickets between Canadian cities could go up if the United States implements an anti-terrorist strategy that would force domestic airlines to fly new routes far north of the American border, Transport Minister Jean Lapierre said Wednesday.
Canada needs a change in government. The Liberals are too stupid and too anti-American to be trusted with national security.

It is difficult to believe that even idiots ever succumbed to such transparent contradictions, to such gaudy processions of mere counter-words, to so vast and obvious a nonsensicality ... sentence after sentence that has no apparent meaning at all...

Mobsters, Secret Recordings And Media Duplicity

I watched CBC National news coverage of the Grewal tapes last night and shook my head with bitter disappointment. I was disappointed because the focus of the report on the Grewal tapes went way beyond balanced reporting, becoming another display of media bias. The bias of Peter Mansbridge and Keith Boag is nothing new. Their logic went something like this: Grewal could have been looking for an appointment, he could be the bad guy, he could have done something wrong. No one would tape a conversation between himself and Liberal insiders if he was looking for reward. NO ONE! But in the rush to cast doubt and prove their loyalties to the Liberal cause, the CBC proved once again they cannot be trusted to report the news.

Only a person attempting to prove that the Liberals are as ethically and morally corrupt as the Gomery testimony has been proving would bother to record a conversation between officials of the Prime Minister's Office and a Minister of the crown. But, if you rely on the CBC for news, then you are one of those persons that is using the Liberal mantra that Grewal is the bad guy. Only in Liberal Canada where all politicians are now corrupt.
"Am I being offered anything, you say 'no'. Because it is upon principle that kind of principle stand that people choose to be above board. Does it sound right?" - [Tim]Murphy
Mr Murphy should be arrested by the RCMP and charged for his 'obvious' crime, Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh should be fired, Prime Minister Paul Martin should resign and the CBC needs some transformational change in their news department.

In the meantime, there are voices of concern:
Canadians have responded with indignation to the Gomery revelations of wads of illicit money in brown paper bags. How should we respond to the Grewal tapes? The theft of millions of dollars of taxpayers' money is a serious harm. But if government appointments are being used as bribes to change how our MPs vote then the damage to the integrity of Canadian democracy may be greater still. If we respond with a cynical shrug then we will share in the blame for what happens to our democratic system.
While legitimate voices echo their concern about the dishonesty and destructive nature of Liberal Party policies, the Prime Minister's Office is in full scale attack mode, questioning the authenticity of the tapes. If ANYONE believes that spin, then Canada is infected with idiots. God help us!

The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it comes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism - ownership of government by an individual, by a group.
-Franklin D. Roosevelt
