Be Confident and Say Merry Christmas
With less than a week to go before Christians celebrate the birth of the Christ child, a bigger task is morphing excess Christmas shopping; defending the right to celebrate Christmas.
Leading the defense of Christians is a Jew. It is comforting that a non-Christian thinks the anti-religious sentiments of radical secularists are a danger to all religious beliefs. But those that claim that they are Christian need to do more.
The Pope recently waded into the issue, reminding Christians "to keep the symbols of Christmas, the nativity crib and the tree, at the centre of their celebrations."

More and more Christians are fighting back against religious intolerance of Christian symbols. Bless them.
"It was the calm and silent night!
Seven hundred years and fifty-three
Had Rome been growing up to might,
And now was queen of land and sea.
No sound was heard of clashing wars,
Peace brooded o’er the hushed domain;
Apollo, Pallas, Jove, and Mars
Held undisturbed their ancient reign
In the solemn midnight,
Centuries ago."
